The Risk Management Department at PLICO has been serving our insureds since 2005. Our staff includes a multidisciplinary group of professionals with diverse experience in clinical risk management, quality improvement, medicine and legal issues. We have two offices—our corporate headquarters in Oklahoma City and our Tulsa office that are available to provide assistance to our network of physicians.

Our goal is to provide physicians with the knowledge, skills and tools to effectively reduce patient morbidity and mortality thereby limiting subsequent liability exposure. We will accomplish our goal by:

• Assisting policyholders in the application of effective and practical Risk Management techniques.
• Conducting comprehensive and/or issue-specific on-site risk assessments and training which:
  • Examine and address risk exposures
  • Identify existing risk components
  • Assist with implementation of risk reduction strategies
• Providing educational programs related to practice issues such as
  • Informed consent
  • Physician/Patient relationship
  • Documentation
  • Physician-to-Physician communication
  • Specialty related clinical issues
• Providing 24 hour online Risk Management seminars qualifying for CME

The PLICO Risk Management Team is dedicated to serving the unique needs of our physicians. We collaborate closely with our customers to provide tailored risk management solutions for targeted patient safety challenges that face Oklahoma physicians.
